Frequently asked questions
Here are some answers to questions you might have prior to your stay
Where are you located?
Clandulla Cottages is located in the Scenic Rim, also known as the Gold Coast Hinterland. Only 60 mins from Brisbane or 45 minutes from the Gold Coast.
When you arrive drive up our driveway, halfway up turn left (follow the “NIGHT STAY” sign), continue through the gate (closing it behind you) and park in the parking bay directly ahead.
We will do our best to greet you when you arrive and if we aren’t there to greet you, there is a doorbell to the left of the car parks for you to ring.
Is it cheaper to book direct with you?
You are usually better off booking directly, where you will find the cheapest rates and we think we can be more personal than larger booking platforms.
What supplies are nearby?
Beaudesert (15min from Clandulla): Coles, Woolworth, Aldi, Caltex Fuel, Cafes and Restaurants.
Canungra (10 min from Clandulla): Ampol Fuel, BP Fuel, Visitor Information Centre, Cafes and Restaurants.
Do you supply breakfast?
No breakfast or food is provided as part of your stay. Each accommodation has a kitchenette, and we suggest that guests bring provisions for their meals.
Is the kitchen in the cottage or suite suitable to cook a meal?
Each accommodation has a self-contained kitchenette with fridge, microwave, toaster, air-fryer, coffee & tea station, and sufficient crockery, cutlery and cookware to cook any meal. Along with some kitchen essentials (cooking oil, sugar, salt and pepper etc) are provided.
On the shared deck there are multiple BBQs, a gas stove top and oven for use by all guests.
The stand-alone cottage, Bottlebrush, has a fully self-contained kitchen with private BBQ as well as all the essentials to cook a meal.
Can we have a late check-out?
Late departures and early arrivals are subject to our booking schedule and may be subject to charges. As we are a very small team and do the cleaning ourselves, we have a very tight timeframe to clean the accommodation for the enjoyment of the next guests. We won’t be able to confirm late check outs until 24 hours prior to your stay.
Can we bring our pets?
For the safety of guest pets, the farm animals and native animals that roam freely around the property, pets are not allowed to be brought onto the farmstay. The cottages and suites do not have suitable enclosures for dogs so we cannot accommodate any guest pets.
Do you offer day tours?
Unfortunately, we do not offer day tours to non-staying guests. Our farm animal feed tours are reserved only for guests staying on the property.
Which is the closest airport?
Clandulla Cottages is approximately 60 minutes from both Brisbane International/Domestic, as well as the Gold Coast International/Domestic Airports.
Are there any special conditions during our stay?
We are a “no-party” property as we provide a peaceful farmstay retreat. Please advise at the time of booking if you have a special occasion you are celebrating. We request no loud noises after 9pm in consideration of other guests and neighbours.
When do you do the farm animal feed tour?
The farm animal feed tours are conducted twice daily (typical feed times range from 6.30am to 7.30am and 4.30pm to 5.30pm depending on time of year). The times do change during different seasons and weather, and you will be notified by email when we send you a pre-arrival confirmation email of your booking and on when you check in.
Can we pat and feed the animals?
You are welcome to spend time with our farm family as they are an integral part of your farmstay experience. Feeding and interacting with the farm animals can be a very relaxing and a very memorable experience. Our herd are very friendly but, like most animals, can be unpredictable at times, especially around food. We require all participants of the feed tour to listen to the rules provided by a staff member at the start of and during every tour. All children must be supervised by a parent/guardian at all times, especially during the animal feed.
Do we need to bring food or feed for the farm animals:
No, we provide the feed for the animals as they are on very specific diets. It is important to us that they are receiving the correct nutrients and feed.
Do we need to bring our own firewood for the firepit?
Firewood is provided for the bonfire each night which is lit by management and subject to weather conditions.
Is there a place for smokers?
Smoking is not permitted in or around buildings/accommodation, including decks. There are penalties for smoking in a restricted area. Please dispose of your butts thoughtfully for the safety of our animals.
Do you have Wi-Fi?
Free Wi-Fi is available to guests for reasonable use.
We’re always happy to hear from you, answer your questions or take your reservation over the phone or by email.
We’ll do our best to accommodate you with your requests and make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
